Equal Access Manager: Christine Jess
Equal Access Managers support area based employability strategies and are catalysts for changing the delivery of services at a local level. Based within the local regeneration agencies and covering Community Health and Care Partnerships, they also help partners to develop services to meet the needs of those individuals referred for support. They have 3 key areas of work i.e. Joining up, Building Capacity and Mainstreaming. They do this in a number of ways including:-
- Develop and raise awareness of the role of employability and services amongst health and social care staff
- Raise awareness of health and social care issues and services among employability staff
- Provide support to Partners in developing and implementing new employability services
- Provide a service which is reflective of the needs of the locality
- Share and disseminate best practice at a local level
- Ensure that you are aware of employability services and priorities in your local area
- Work with you to identify training opportunities in the employability field and access the training for your employees
- Enable you to integrate with other employability services in the area
- Raise awareness of events and encourage local networking
- Offer guidance on creating new assessment criteria and the relevant paperwork
- Sit on relevant forums, as well as setting up new groups when there is a need
