’In work, better off’ sets out proposals to deliver a step change in the support we offer to those who are most disadvantaged in the labour market. Our goal is nothing less than full employment in our generation.
At the heart of our proposals is a new ‘jobs pledge’, which will build on the groundbreaking Local Employment Partnerships announced in the 2007 Budget. We are aiming for major employers to offer a quarter of a million job opportunities to the long-term out-of-work.
In work, better off: next steps to full employment July 2007 – Consultations in Glasgow supported by Equal Access to Employment.
Equal Access is a partnership between the city's main service providers that has a vision to see every adult in Glasgow, regardless of their age, gender, background, ethnicity, personal or health history should have the same opportunity as everyone else in the city to obtain and hold down meaningful, paid work.
